Central Java Economy Grows Positive in First Quarter
METROJATENG.COM, SEMARANG - Central Java’s Provincial Central Statistics Agency (BPS) noted that Central Java’s economy grew positively in the first quarter of 2019. It reached 5.14% year on year (yoy).
Head of Central Java’s BPS, Sentot Bangun Widoyono said, compared to the fourth quarter of 2018 Central Java's economy grew by 1.83%. Meanwhile, the growth was contributed by a number of factors.
"In terms of production, the growth was driven by all business fields with the highest growth achieved in Provision of Accommodation, Food and Beverage field which increased 12.55%. Then from the expenditure side, the highest growth was achieved by the Component of LNPRT Consumption Expenditure which grew by 12.41%, "he said on Monday (05/5/2019).
It is known, Central Java’s economic structure in the quarter I-2019 in terms of production is still dominated by the processing industry business field which is equal to 34.20%. While in terms of expenditure, it was dominated by the component of Household Consumption expenditure (PKRT) which reached 60.86%.
Sentot explained, Central Java’s economy based on the level of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices during the first quarter of 2019 reached Rp. 328,002.76 billion and on the basis of constant prices in 2010 reached Rp240,347.87 billion.
"Meanwhile, Central Java’s economic structure in quarter l-2019, from the production side, is still dominated by the processing industry business field, which is 34.20%.
