Targeted to be Established in 2020, Purbalingga’s Sudirman Airport Will Have Economic Impact in Central Java Rakyat Merdeka - The construction of General Soedirman Airport in Purbalingga, continues to be accelerated. This airport was targeted to operate in 2020.

This was highlighted by the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Rini Soemarno while having an on-site review of the construction project in Purbalingga, Central Java, Sunday (12/5).

"This airport can support the regional economy. I am here to directly check the preparation for the development and fully support the construction of this airport so it will be on operational in 2020, "said Rini.

General Soedirman Airport, according to Rini, is very strategic to support Central Java’s economic growth, especially in Purbalingga, Banyumas, Kebumen, Banjarnegara, and Wonosobo Regencies.

The Project is located at General Soedirman Air Force Base. In April 2019, AP II and Indonesian Air Force signed a Cooperation Agreement marking the start of the infrastructure construction.

AP II and the Indonesian Air Force have also agreed on Work Environment Areas (DLKr), namely DLKr I covering an area of ​​4.42 hectares used by the airport including cargo terminals, passenger terminals, operational / office buildings, and other land side facilities.

Meanwhile, DLKr II covering 43.5 hectares for joint use (civil and military flights) includes runway, RESA (runway end safety area), stopway, taxiway, PKP-PK (Flight Accident Aid and Fire Extinguisher), shared facilities, and security fence. (QAR)
